This woman's a moron

I was reading the transcript of a discussion with Lynda Milito, and I have to tell you, she strikes me as a real dumbass. She's the author of a book called Mafia Wife, and she's there trying to sell books. Even knowing she's just there trying to generate interest in a book, I was struck by what a moron she is. Not only does she seem to want sympathy for how things have turned out, but she states facts that are ridiculous and contradicts herself in several places.

"...I refused to put up a stone without something in the coffin to give back the respect that I feel his father Louie should have."

Louie Milito was a captain in the Castellano crime family and murderer by her own admission, but she believes he's owed some measure of respect?

"There was the old regime, and then there was the new regime. As everybody knows, the old regime had morals. And those morals are what Louie stood for, and that's why Louie died."

Morals? The old Regime had morals? I can't believe she's in public saying this. I don't think the word morals means what she thinks it means.

"Louie took an oath. Somewhat like a soldier. He joined whatever he joined, and it was his choice to join whatever he did. And that's what he did. When a soldier joins the army, this is what they do. On the other hand, when Louie saw a baby he'd kiss that baby. If he saw a veteran of foreign wars, he'd give him money. If he saw a stray animal on the street, he'd give food to that animal. Louie got into organized crime for the love of his mother. He did something to help out his mother, and he owed a favor, and owed a favor and owed a favor."

In her next answer she admits he was an assasin, but that doesn't make him a bad guy in her eyes. See, he took an oath, and as long as you take an oath and feed stray animals, then nothing you do is really wrong. Plus see, he did it for his mother, and how can anything be bad if it was done for his mother? What a crock of shit!! The guy wasn't a soldier, and he didn't have a soldier's honor. He was a killer, and just because there were a lot of them didn't make them an army. They were a gang. For her to compare a member of a gang to a soldier is probably the stupidest thing she said in the entire interview.

"There was no way I could stop his life of crime. It was literally impossible. I once tried to go home to my mother, told I was being hit. She told me, you made your bed, you have to lay in it; I'll have no babies in my house. Back then, you had no shelters. Thanks to Nicole Simpson, we now have shelters."

Huh? There were no shelters until Nicole Simpson? Maybe seeing that on the news made her aware of shelters, but there were shelters for battered women before Nicole Simpson was murdered. She has a thing about using celebrity names to make a point. She wants herself to be associated with Nicole Simpson to seem more sympathetic. She also describes some of the men from the 'Old Regime' as men Robert De Niro would play. See, if Robert De Niro played them, they must be honorable.

"So you see, I had no door to go out of. Did I ever ask Louie for a divorce? I sure did. Louie told me, the only divorce you're going to get, is in a box. And I'll tell your father you ran away with another man. And he'll be waiting for your phone call for the rest of his life. I just couldn't let my father wait."

She said earlier she didn't have a mother or father or any family, and now she's referred to both her mother and her father. She doesn't really have what I would call a commitment to the truth. On another note, a guy who keeps his wife around by appealing her desire not to leave her father childless doesn't really seem like an honorable guy. What part of his morals makes it ok to threaten to kill his wife to make her stay married to him? So either she's lying about him saying that to make herself seem more sympathetic, or she was lying about him having morals and being a man deserving of respect.

"Court TV Host: Thank you for being our guest today. Any closing thoughts?
Lynda Milito: Buy my book!"

That's all she's thinking about. She's not trying to find her husband's body to get closure for her children. She just wants to cash in. She's even talking about her sequel already. I have no problem with her writing a book about whatever she chooses and trying to get rich. I do think it's pretty sorry of a person to pretend that they have some kind of noble reason for doing what they are when it's really just about money.
